The Pataxó are an indigenous people in Bahia, Brazil. They speak the Pataxó language called Patxohã.

The UN defines Indigenous peoples as “inheritors and practitioners of unique cultures and ways of relating to people and the environment” with distinct social, cultural, economic, and political traits.
